Todd Khozein:

Todd is a pioneer in systems innovation based on biological models. In this context, he has studied and applied systems theory to organizational innovation, developing systems in industries ranging from medicine to entertainment. His interests lie in creating collaborative frameworks where the incentive structure, technology and human resource development initiatives align to enable innovation across hierarchy. At SecondMuse, he has founded initiatives such as Random Hacks of Kindness (RHoK), bringing together Microsoft, Google, Yahoo!, NASA, and the World Bank around crisis response, and LAUNCH, an open innovation platform created by NASA, NIKE, USAID and The U.S. Department of State for a more sustainable world.

Carrie Freeman:

Carrie is a managing partner of SecondMuse, an open innovation agency that tackles complex social and environmental challenges around the world. At SecondMuse, Carrie has managed open innovation programs with clients including NASA, Nike, UNEP, World Bank, and USAID. She regularly speaks globally on the roles of technology, sustainability, innovation and corporate responsibility. Prior to joining SecondMuse, Carrie was the Director of Sustainable Business Innovation at Intel. There, she pioneered strategies around a corporate impact investing fund and developing technology market solutions to solve global sustainability challenges.

Davar Ardalan:

Davar Ardalan is Director of Storytelling & Engagement at SecondMuse. Ardalan leads systems storytelling around citizen science, ocean conservation, humanitarian disaster relief, materials innovation and big data. As a veteran journalist and former social media strategist at NPR News, Ardalan’s real-time campaigns garnered millions of impressions on Twitter across the globe. Most recently she was the Senior Producer and Social Media Strategist for NPR’s Identity and Culture Unit. In May 2014, she was the recipient of an Ellis Island Medal of Honor, for individual achievement and for promoting cultural unity.
