Kay Fleischer has MA and MBA degrees. She has certifications in LAN/WAN Technology and Telecommunications Technology from DePaul University in Chicago, IL. She is a Project Management Professional since 1998. Kay has been in various project management roles in different industries. She has been a senior project manager, a program manager, a solutions lead, a consultant, and an IT PMO manager. She has worked on IT infrastructure projects for global firms, data centers for airlines, disaster recovery solutions for financial companies, product development for manufacturing firms, and most recently as program manager for an outsourcing company.

In 2003, Kay Fleischer founded the Fryklund Group, Inc., a Chicago-based project management and consulting firm attending the manufacturing and service industries, the public, private and non-profit sectors. The Group is composed of a team of dedicated professionals who has extensive knowledge of different business environments coupled with an ability to react quickly to changing needs. Kay Fleischer was the President of the PMI Chicagoland Chapter in 2004 to 2006. She was also the Director of the PMI Educational Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the PMI, for three years that began in 2007, where she helped developed program and grant policies. In 2005, she was involved in developing the Post Disaster and Reconstruction Methodology and Training Project. She was also a core team member of the Post Disaster Program Management Initiative. She was a PM with the International Rescue Committee that launched the initiative in addressing post-war communication needs in Kosovo.
