Overview Presentation

Copper Project, or simply Copper, is a web-based productivity software that can be deployed as software-as-a-service (SaaS) or hosted on the customer’s server within their office. It simplifies workflow with its project management, collaboration, and time and expense tracking features. It is easy to use because of an intuitive interface and centralized repository, so users can focus on their business, clients, and profits. Latest version 5 has been released, and it continues to make life simpler for many businesses and organizations as they deliver customer requirements on time and within budget.

Features, Benefits, Product Strengths

Real-time Task Management and Time Tracking – From the To-Do tab of the software’s user interface, a complete list of the tasks assigned to a particular user is shown. Highlighting a task will indicate urgency, and pinning it to a specific user will indicate a required input or dependency. Clicking a task expands it and shows details. A timer can track the time spent on the task. The user can indicate the percent complete of the task as well.

Flexible Project and File Management – By clicking the Projects tab, the user is taken to the Projects area where all the defined projects, the organization it belongs to, and assigned people are shown. Here, statuses are easily seen with colored indicators. The new Project Timeline feature gives the manager an instant view of the percent completed and delivery dates. On a Drag and Drop Calendar, projects and tasks can be easily transferred to a new position. Secured file management is preserved by allowing files to be attached only to tasks or projects, ensuring right access. It is possible to import or export MS Project XML into Copper, and export Copper projects in CSV and PDF format.

Simplified Organization, Budgeting, Invoicing, Integration, and Customization – From the People tab, an interface opens with three sub-tabs of People, Organizations, and Timesheets. Copper Project simplifies user, contact, or group management by referring them simply as People or Organizations. A timesheet is created by selecting a name or names and a period of time. Budgets and estimates are easily viewed and created on a per project basis, taking all the hours logged by all involved for that project. The software easily integrates with Xero and QuickBooks. Administrators can customize settings and the interface to reflect preferred currency, time zone, logo, and default language.

Pricing

Copper Project offers a free 30-day trial period on all plans for customers to give it a try before deciding to sign up. It also offers an installable licensed version when customers prefer to host it using their own servers. The complete source code is given, so the license owners can make their own modifications or request the software company for customization. Signing up requires a credit card number, but will be billed only at the end of the 30-day period upon switching to the preferred paid plan. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time.
