Centralized, Easy-to-use, Collaborative Interface – 5pm online project management software is designed with simplicity of use in mind. From a single screen with two panes, access to all kinds of information and action is within a couple of clicks. Users can see all their projects as well as their specific tasks from an expandable/collapsible view on the left-hand pane. Filters and tags allow easy search and groupings, while a customizable menu allows for easy display of additional columns. The right hand pane shows details for the items selected at the left side, including comments and file attachments. The social toolbar at the bottom of the screen enables users to see members that are logged in, check their status and chat with them in real-time.

Interactive Timeline View, Customizable Reports – The project management software provides an alternate timeline view, aside from the default tasks/projects view, that allows users to view tasks and schedules on a daily/weekly/monthly view. Changes and updates can be done inside the Gantt chart with drag and drop, including task dependencies. The view is automatically refreshed for every update. It is easy to create a general report for all or selected clients and activities. Other types of reports are Time report, Current Workload and Daily Workload reports.

Email Integration, Mobile Edition, Open API, Time Tracker Widget, and more – 5pm integrates with emails in both directions. Users can send notifications from the application to email recipients and also use emails to create tasks, assign resources, attach files and add messages to the PM application. An Outlook Add-in is available. It has a native iPhone app and has a mobile version for other devices. It can import from CSV files, Excel, MS Project and BaseCamp, and can track time on PC, Mac or Linux desktop with its widget. It also integrates with Google Apps, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Spiderscribe, Firefly and more. Further customization and integration is also possible with its Open API.

5pm offers several pricing plans based on the number of users. Advanced prepayment for 6 or 12 months is also possible. Discounts are available for educational institutions and non-profits. All plans include for unlimited clients, a specified storage capacity, 256-bit SSL encryption and nightly backups in SSAE-16-compliant data centers. A 14-day free trial period is also available.

Company Info

5pm is a product of Disarea LLC, based in Wake Forest, NC, USA. The PM product was launched in 2007. Founders Greg Roy and Sergei Podbereschi were looking for the right project management tool to use, but at that time, what were available to them were either too complicated for their needs or too simple. They decided to build a PM tool that can provide instantly a high-level view of the projects, a quick way to enter information into the system and an easy way to add tasks, users or projects as needed. 5pm was built with the idea of being simple by design and easy enough to use without taking too much time for valuable work. It continues with this philosophy as it adds more feature to the latest version.
