After Prince Harry’s girlfriend Meghan Markle was spotted wearing rings by Missoma, the British jewellery brand saw a significant surge in sales.

The fashion industry is very familiar with the ‘Kate effect’, with items worn by the Duchess often selling out, but now it appears fashion choices made by the prince’s new girlfriend are driving sales too.

The internet went into melt down when photographers spotted Markle wearing delicate stacking rings during a trip out in London.

Sales surge for Missoma after Markle is spotted in Nexus ring

With a more frugal taste in jewellery, consumers jumped at the chance to buy the same jewellery as Markle when it was revealed the rings in question were from British jewellery brand Missoma’s Nexus collection and were priced at an affordable £59 for the 18ct double arrow band.

Missoma’s phones were ringing off the hook and the brand’s website saw a surge of 5,000 visitors to its website within hours of the photographs of Markle wearing the rings being published.

The star has previously posted Instagram pictures of her wearing other pieces from the brand, including an 18ct gold vermeil engraved Bar necklace with inset diamond , costing just £125, engraved with her name.
