When comparing Creative Cloud to the older Creative Suite model, one of the promises of CC is an ongoing stream of product updates that comes included with every membership. Paying extra for upgrades is a thing of the past because your tools are always up-to-date with the latest-and-greatest versions – instantly or whenever you want them to be…
So, after a long history of monolithic 18-month product cycles, how is the company now adapting and delivering on this new rapid refresh model in this time of fast-paced technological changes?
The initial CC release shipped on June 17th of this year. And we originally thought we’d see these updates coming out about once a month or so – but instead, different upgrades have been released and available more like once a week. (That’s the frequency of updates across the entire CC collection of 15 creative tools, not every tool is being upgraded every week!)
So we know already what’s different between last year’s CS6 vs. the original CC release, but there isn’t anywhere we’ve seen keeping track of everything that’s happened since. In other words, what are the differences between the original June version of CC and the currently-available version?
To help answer that, here is a list of all the application updates that Adobe has added to CC since its initial launch on June 17th, 2013. These upgrades are automatically included for all Creative Cloud members at no additional cost:
