Asks CM to explain Balkonda MLA’s threats to people
Hyderabad: Former Congress parliamentarian Ponnam Prabhakar has questioned KCR’s ethical governance claim. He asked Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to tell him what action he would initiate against his MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy and Power Minister G Jagdish Reddy for indulging in unethical practices. Ponnam said that Prashanth Reddy had threatened people at a public meeting in his own constituency and Jagdish Reddy’s follower Santhosh was allegedly extorting money from unemployed youth.
Speaking to the media here on Monday at Gandhi Bhavan, Ponnam alleged that Balkonda MLA Prashanth Reddy threatened the people publicly when they asked him about the construction of the check-dam. “Prashanth Reddy, in the public meeting, allegedly said that he used to live in AC house and traveled in AC cars. Prashanth Reddy said at the public meeting that he spent crores of rupees during the Telangana movement and for the MLA elections. He further said that he would make the people to visit 100 times and then only he would construct the check-dam”, Ponnam said and played a video of Prashanth Reddy in front of the media.
Stating that the Congress party will lodge a complaint with the Election Commission against Prashanth Reddy as the latter failed to mention about spending crores of rupees during the elections, Ponnam asked KCR to tell as to what he will say about Prashanth Reddy if he really practiced ethics and transparent governance.
Demanding the Power Minister to tender his resignation as his follower Santhosh made insulting remarks against women, Ponnam said that he will send the videos of two to the Chief Minister. He asked KCR as to why he was maintaining silence on these issues instead of responding to them if the Chief Minister really followed ethics. He alleged that Jagdish Reddy follower Santhosh was extorting money from the unemployed youth and it may be reaching the minister.
Ponnam alleged that the TRS public representatives were threatening the officials but KCR was chanting ‘Gandhi Idealism’. On the other hand, some of the TRS public representatives were doing ‘bhajan’ of KCR saying that there was no such leader like KCR.
Asking the Chief Minister to tell as to why he went to Delhi, Ponnam asked him to spend SDF funds if he really loved farmers instead of asking the Prime Minister’s assistance.
In a separate press meet, TPCC secretary Mahesh Goud alleged that the Chief Minister has met the Prime Minister only to make his black money as white.
