LONG POND — NASCAR makes its second visit of the season to Pocono Raceway next weekend, headlined by the Pennsylvania 400 Sprint Cup Series race July 31.

Also taking place will be the ARCA Series ModSpace 150 on Friday and the

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Pocono Mountains 150 on Saturday.

While there will be plenty of action on the 2.5-mile triangular track, there is a lot going on off the track in the days leading up to the races.

It starts Thursday with the fifth annual Pocono Charity Poker Tournament from 6-10 p.m. at Mohegan Sun Pocono.

Among the celebrities scheduled to play are NASCAR president Mike Helton; Sprint Cup Series drivers David Ragan and Matt DiBenedetto; former National Hockey League players Ed Hospodar and Sebastien Caron; and former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Mike Quick.

Proceeds from the tournament benefit The NASCAR Foundation, which provides educational opportunities for children, and Michael’s Way, a Philadelphia-based charity that tries to improve the lives of children with pediatric cancer and provide financial support for their families.
