In just a few short days, we will be welcoming the start of a new season – sweet summertime. (However, living in Texas, it has already felt like summertime for quite a while now.) To me, summer is synonymous with fun sundresses, pastels, and beachy accessories. Who doesn’t enjoy revamping their wardrobe for the summer season!?

My favorite way to do just that (without breaking the bank) is to shop sales.  Isn’t it crazy how gratifying it feels to find a gorgeous dress on super sale, and in your size to boot?!

Speaking of which, I’ve had my eye on this white eyelet Anthropologie dress for quite a while now. Having no special event on the horizon, or no really good excuse for that matter, I didn’t pull the trigger on the $188 price tag.

Thank goodness I waited! Because I got this oh-so pretty white frock for around just $37! (During an extra 25% sale dresses promotion)

Let’s be honest, there is something about Anthropologie that just draws me in. Maybe it’s the candles, the intricate embroidered clothing, the quirky home decor you never knew you needed – I don’t know what.  But I love it.  Yes, Anthro has quite the high price point, but did you know that most of the time, every single thing in the store goes on sale?

Don’t ya just love that sweet four letter word? S-A-L-E?

So today I’m styling my killer deal of a dress … AND  letting you all in on a few tips & tricks that I use when shopping Anthropologie’s sale room. :)

For starters, if you’re an Anthro enthusiast like myself, you are probably aware that each store has it’s own designated sale room.  If you weren’t aware, be sure to check out your local Anthropologie and head for one of the back corners and you will find just that.  A whole entire room filled with marked down goodness.

Often times items are marked down at the beginning of the week.  How do I know this you ask? I tend to shop there a lotttttt. Sure, they will have surprise sales every so often that catch you off guard, (sign up for the e-mails!) but most of the time you can pretty much count on a markdown happening every other Monday or so.  If you have the time and want to grab some good deals, I would head in to Anthro early in the day and at the beginning of the week. That way you’re getting the pick of the litter and can most likely find a marked down item that you love & in your size too.

Here’s a tip I’ve learned along the way: If the store is out of your size, you can always write down the item number that’s on the price tag and call Anthropologie’s customer service to check the inventory.  They are soooo incredibly helpful! They will look up that item in their serious magical database to find if and which story is carrying it in your size.  Say you’re in Texas and Pennsylvania has your coveted top.  They’ll give you the number for the PA store and you can call and make an over the phone purchase.  Ta-da that cute blouse that was once $98 and now on sale for $29.95 is now yours!  It just took some hunting and finagling is all. :)

For you savvy online shoppers. A good way to shop sales is by creating a “wishlist” on the website. Just register and simply create your own wishlist. This is meant to be where you will save your favorite items when browsing the site for either purchasing later or in the hopes that a special someone will fulfill your wishlist. (That totally has not happened to me yet, btw!)

I mainly use my wishlist to keep track of my favorite pieces that I’m considering buying but also kind of waiting to go on sale. The wishlist will hold onto your items as long as you’d like.  I still have some stuff in mine from 3+ years ago!  That being said, it updates itself to reflect whether an item has sold out or gone on sale.  Sometimes I’ll check mine and see that a skirt I’d been eyeing had been reduced two times since I had last looked logged on. When that happens, it’s like the same feeling you get when walking into the sale room and seeing that red sticker on one of your favorite pieces. But you just happen to be sitting at a computer. :)

While these fun little tips are helpful, there’s still no guarantee if and when the items you love will get stamped with that little red sticker. But the hunting and waiting game makes it part of the fun, you know?

It certainly was fun to snag this pretty white dress for such a bargain!! I’ve had it only for one week now and have managed to find 3 occasions to wear it! Around different people of course …… ;-)  My favorite way to style this eyelet dress (so far) is with a fun scarf, chunky heels and a simple summery purse.  I’m sure I’ll be wearing this easy to style piece a whole lot more this summer too!
