The fifth season of Pretty Little Liars ended with the girls running away from Charles, only to discover that he/she had fenced them into a hellish dollhouse dimension. So what sorts of dangers and spine-tingling predicaments does Season 6 hold for Aria Montgomery, Spencer Hastings, Emily Fields, Hanna Marin, Mona Vanderwaal, Alison DiLaurentis, and their respective friends, lovers and families?
Game On, Charles!
Well, get excited because when the hit ABC Family returns on June 2, the Liars will stand up to their tormenter. They will band together to solve the puzzle, unmask Charles, and finally put an end to the A game — for real this time! That said, we’ve rounded up some juicy spoilers, interesting soundbites, and behind-the-scenes images to get you prepped on all the crazy moments that lie ahead. Study up, dolls, because PLL Season 6 is going to be chock-full of chilling twists and turns!
1. The next two seasons will be shortened to 20 episodes each, as opposed to the usual 25.

2. Not only will Season 6A be compressed into three weeks worth of craziness, but a significant time jump will occur in the second half! “We’ve been talking about [the time jump] for years. This is the same group of writers who have been here since Day 1, so a lot of the ideas that have been bandied about, even two or three years ago, are just now coming to fruition,” executive producer Oliver Goldstick told TVLine. “We’ve had the writing on the wall — literally, on the board of our writers room — as to where these girls are going to end up. But we’re surprising ourselves, too. There are some juicy developments that we didn’t expect, which I think the audience is going to love.”
3. We know the titles for the first half of Season 6, including the summer finale: 6×01 – “Game on, Charles;” 6×02 – “Songs of Innocence;” 6×03 – “Songs of Experience;” 6×04 – “Go Set Yourself Free;” 6×05 – “She’s No Angel;” 6×06 – “Don’t Underestimate A Blind Bitch;” 6×07 – “I’m Gonna Love You Until You Hate Me;” 6×08 – “Charles Understood;” 6×09 – “Back to Radley;” and 6×10 – “Game Over, Charles.”
4. Varjack who? “As the girls say, [Varjack] is a nom de plume, it’s another name that A is using. At this point, the girls now have the name Charles, so in this season going forward, the girls are following this trail of ‘Who is Charles?’ That’s really where the focus is this season,” PLL writer Maya Goldsmith told Bustle.
5. Fans will be treated to more DiLaurentis family flashbacks.

6. Viewers will learn more of Andrew Campbell’s secrets and why he’s so interested in the girls. Welcome back, Brandon W. Jones!

7. Will Maya St. Germain rise from the dead just like Mona did? Don’t hold your breath, sweethearts. However, prior to her death, she may have uncovered fresh intel about the psycho behind all those ominous texts. “Given Maya’s history with the series — she was sort of clued in by the end, and possibly had some answers — it was not “A” that killed her, but that doesn’t mean “A” didn’t try,” Oliver Goldstick explained in a recent interview.
8. Either Emily is swimming and/or coaching again, or she has a lot of school pride. Check out Shay Mitchell rocking a Sharks t-shirt on set!

9. Emily’s fabulous mom, Pam Fields, returns. Nia Peeples is a forced to be reckoned with, and we can’t wait to see what 2015 has in store for her TV family. That said, based on what Joseph Dougherty told our team, we’re kind of worried about the moms and their daughters. “Sometimes even your parents can’t protect you,” he hinted.

10. We’re also thrilled to welcome back Ella Montgomery, aka Holly Marie Combs. She’s been sorely missed!

11. Despite his complete disregard for authority, as well as his clear disdain with coffee runs, Toby Cavanaugh is still a cop. “Officer Toby, standing between the citizens of Rosewood and the existential void since last week,” PLL director Norman Buckley captioned the photo below.

12. Watch out, Rosewood! It looks as though Officer Toby has found himself a (hot) new crime-fighting partner — actor Travis Winfrey! “Bad boys bad boys. Whatcha gonna do? Whatcha you gonna do when they come for you?” the newcomer teased via his official Instagram account.

13. PLL’s new “tomboy” Kimberly Brown, played by Project Runway model Dre Davis, was spotted wearing a blonde wig and dirty yellow tank top. Hmm. Let the Bethany Young/Sara Harvey theories commence!

14. Yikes! Something tells us we’ll be made privy to some dark and mysterious Ezra Fitz scenes in Season 6. And by “something” we mean this interesting commented made by Norman Buckley: “Ian Harding would be a good candidate to play the young Robert Durst.”

15. Spencer will be the first person to see Charles without his mask on. 16. Madison Ziegler of Dance Moms fame may be making a cameo in Season 6. “What a doll I got to work with today!” PLL’s costume designer, Mandi Line, revealed on Instagram.

17. Paige McCullers will be back. “Not right off the bat in Season 6, but I will say that you will see Paige,” Marlene King told Zap2It. “I don’t want to give away the story — she’s not in the first couple episodes, I’ll say.” 18. Troian Bellisario’s pal, Lulu Brud Zsebe, is guest-starring in PLL 6×04 as a character named Sabrina! The actress shared the exciting news in a sweet Instagram post: “When your real life best friend since you were 15 comes on your show and you get scenes together… It’s a pinch me I’m dreaming scenario.”

19. HoorAy: Dr. Sullivan’s in the house! Has she returned to share important details regarding Charles, and help the Rosewood PD track down the Liars? A devoted fan can only hope. 20. Get ready to drool over the Liars’ fierce new looks, including these to-die-for bags by Rebecca Minkoff.

21. Wedding bells might chime for one beloved Rosewood couple! “Will one of them be married? Mmmm…. I’d say yes,” Oliver Goldstick revealed during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “And that’s the kind of stuff we’re going to jump into, and I think that’s really exciting.” Our money is on a Haleb wedding!
22. Byron Montgomery returns. Hopefully he’ll be more present in his children’s lives this year — especially considering everything that’s gone down with Charles and the court case!

23. The Liars WILL manage to escape Charles’ dollhouse sooner than you think. However, this nightmarish experience will leave them traumatized. “The fallout of what they go through definitely leaves them scarred and in need of healing and rebonding with the families and their bed buddies and their loved ones,” Marlene told E! Online. She also mentioned that the upcoming season is “really about answers and closure for all of them. It is an ending to the story that we started so long ago, but it’s a very fast-paced ending to the story.”
24. Should fans expect an heart-rendering reunion between Mike and Mona? Well, the bad news is that Cody Christian is going to be busy with Teen Wolf Season 6. The good news though is that he will pop up in later PLL episodes! “You will see him again, but not right away,” Oliver Goldstick told Hollywood Life.
25. Maya Goldsmith and Oliver Goldsmith are collaborating on the fifth and sixth episodes. “Writing 605 and 606 with @olivergoldstick. Both episodes have some wild stuff. We’ve basically lost our minds,” she tweeted. Speaking of wild stuff, Janel Parrish promises that the season opener is going to be action-packed — and kind of morbid! “[The Liars and Mona] just got punished for our actions and some of it is pretty dark. This season is going to take a little bit of a turn, and I think people are going to really like it,” she coyly stated.
Honestly, after reading through numerous interviews and leafing through teasers on social media, we can’t wait to find out what happens next; the PLL Season 6 premiere can’t come fast enough! What are YOU most looking forward to in terms of the romances, mysteries, and storylines? Tell us in a comment!
