Jason DiLaurentis will always be that character that looked a little different in the first few episodes of Pretty Little Liars, but when Drew Van Acker took on the role – replacing Parker Bagley in Season 2 — he made it his own. He was always be the real Jason in our hearts, to be honest. And lucky for us, Rosewood will likely be seeing more of his adorable face in future seasons as more shocking DiLaurentis family secrets continue to be revealed!
That said, want to get better acquainted with this Devious Maids and PLL hottie? Here are 15 things you probably didn’t know about Drew:
1.) He was born in Philly on April 2, 1986, and grew up in Medford, New Jersey, where he attended Shawnee High School.
2.) Van Acker didn’t even have to audition for Jason on Pretty Little Liars. The producers came to his manager and said he’d be perfect for the role.
3.) If Drew could hop into a time machine, he’d take a journey back into The Roaring ’20s! (Perhaps Jason could have benefited from living during the Prohibition Era? Poor guy.)
4.) When stranded on a desert island, if Drew could bring 3 things, he’d bring his dog, a friend and his guitar. Swoon!
5.) One small step for man, one giant leap for Drew Van Acker. As a kid — and even now — Drew has always dreamed of becoming an astronaut!
6.) If Drew could play any other characters on Pretty Little Liars, he’d play Hanna because she’s the most fun. He’s even said he’s love to play Spencer because of her intelligence and wit.
7.) Drew has 48 stitches on the side of his head from a bike accident that occurred when he was approximately 6 years old. While riding his bike at night, Drew turned to his friend riding along with him and ran into a mirror of a van parked on the side of the road.
8.) Drew’s role model is his father, who always told him, “Do what you want to do. Make yourself happy, but work hard.” Oh, and did we mention that he’s already way on his way to being a great role model to someone else? His baby niece is so lucky to have such an awesome uncle!
9.) Star Wars was the movie that inspired him to become an actor. May the force be with you, Drew.
10.) He had his first kiss at 14, loves The Notebook, and is obsessed with Chipotle. Honestly, he couldn’t get any more perfect if he tried!
11.) Drew played the role of Simba in a high school play of The Lion King. HAKUNA MATATA!
12. If he could choose any super power in the world, he’d love the ability to fly.
13.) He attended Towson University in Maryland on a soccer scholarship.
14.) Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones are at the top of Drew’s “must watch” list. As someone who claims to have been “in trouble with the law” when he was 17, he’d probably enjoy these shows.
15.) Drew has read the first nine installments in Sara Shepard’s PLL book series. Now that’s dedication to your TV character.
