2016 is going to be hard to top! I’ve had so many incredible features over the years but being in Real Simple and People StyleWatch were big moments for me! I’ve also added to my sizable list of makeup heroes spending time with the founders of Colourpop, GlamGlow, Kat Von D, Laura Geller, ByTerry, NudeStix, It Cosmetics… and the amount of celebrities from Lionel Richie, Kerry Washington, and Courtney Love that I’ve been able to meed. And so much travel!!!! I have so much to be grateful for. This was also the year I rescued Charlie and getting him healthy and being able to give him so much love is probably my biggest achievement. 2017 was too epic not to document a photo gallery and timeline of my best moments!
One of my favorite traditions, which I started in 2013 and kept up in 2014, and 2015 is to kick off the new year by looking back on the year before. It’s something I recommend everyone does in whatever format fits you best. I take out all of the bad and just focus on all of the amazing moments. We live in such a fast paced world, it’s good to take a moment to reflect… life got really exciting around March but in the words of Frank Sinatra, the best is yet to come!
January
I kicked off January in the Berkshires at Kripalu Yoga Retreat and completed a 30 day no drinking challenge. I was also one of the first editors invited to the Dove soap factory and got to make a custom Dove soap bar with my name on it. I also went Indoor skydiving with It Cosmetics, which was so fun! I also got to attend the first dog wedding of celebrity rescues, Toast and Finn — not knowing I was mere weeks from rescuing my first dog!
February
I woke up at 7am to attend Daybreaker’s with Clinique and danced our faces off for what’s a complete morning, sober rave party.
I joined Nudestix Founder Jenny Frankel and participated in their Love is Louder Campaign.
That’s also the month we said goodbye to my good friend and fashion icon, Patricia Field’s iconic store and shopped our last minute Sex and the City finds in NYC.
March
March rocked my world when I got to meet Kerry Washington with Neutrogena.
I hung out with Charlie XCX for her collaboration with Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Eye Pencils.
I photoboothed with Khloe Kardashian!
Became friends with Laura Geller at her event at Blushington in NYC. She also met my mom and invited me to her apartment later in the year so I think that makes us best friends.
I got to bust myths with beauty bad ass Paula Begoun or Paula’s Choice!
I grabbed some friends and road tripped to Long Island to meet the founder of It Cosmetics, Jamie Kern Lima!
April
April was another epic Coachella, filled with music, parties, celebrities and partnerships. It was also where I rescued the love of my life… Charlie!
We rescued Charlie at the Westin Hotel in Mission Hills near Coachella. The hotel has an amazing rescue dog program. I had no plans to get a dog but next thing I knew, I was cominh home with a senior dog! They also have bee keeping on the property, so that happened!
I also shot my first international segment for a Japanese TV station talking about Kojac sponges!
May
My bathing suit shoot came out in the May issue of People StyleWatch!
I met and managed a selfie with Kat Von D!!!!!!!!
I had lunch with Paramore’s Hayley Williams for the launch of her new hair color line GoodDyeYoung!
June
I was on the Sinful Colors nail polish float for Pride in NYC!!!!!!!!!! My first time on a float ever, so major!
I was flown to Boston to be one of the first editors to see Gillette’s headquarters and get a tour!
I finally got the nerve to ask Mick Rock for a photo thanks to my good friend Allison! If I ever strike it rich, I want a gallery wall of his photographs, specifically the one of David Bowie and Mick Ronson on a train.
I met Lionel Richie at the Fragrance Awards and Joanna Coles told me she liked my style — so what I’m trying to say is this was the best day of my life.
I did a facial with the glow king, Ole Henriksen at the launch of his Powerbright at home facial kit. He’s so lovely.
Charlie and I stopped by the Jeremy Scott x Daily Front Row party thanks to our friends at Morrocan Oil, and somehow landed this amazing moment with Paris Hilton and Jeremy Scott! JEREMY SCOTT IS HOLDING MY ARM!!!!!!!
July
Urban Decay launched their 100 piece Vice Lipstick collection and partnered with a different influencer for every shade. I’m so honored to have been chosen as the face of Jilted.
Melissa and I head to Miami for Swim with Kyboe! watches and what would be a decadent weekend thanks to Kyboe! owner, Marc Bell!
August
I got to interview one of my childhood heroes, Olympic gymnast, Dominque Dawes thanks to Tide!
I announced my partnership with American Express as their Blue Cash Everyday Ambassador
Charlie and I had tea with Eva Chen in the iconic mini Instagram boardroom.
Charlie and I land our first joint campaign for the Renaissance Hotel. We also took an epic road trip with James from Newport, Providence, Boston, Portsmouth NH, Portland, Warren Island/Camden to Arcadia National Park.
September
Iris Apfel asked me to come on stage during her style talk at Macy’s for her INC collaboration so she could meet Charlie!
Charlie and I also had a feature in Real Simple for the October issue, which was the best early birthday present.
I met Courtney Love at the Coach fashion show after party!
Cindy Crawford joined my squad at the Maybelline fashion week party
It’s a good think Cynthia Rowley dressed me that day for her fashion show that day…
I went to the US Open with American Express! Being an ambassador for them rules!
I sat front row for Patricia Field’s Art Fashion show. I don’t know anyone that works harder and has done more with time on this planet then Pat Field. She’s my hero and friend.
After my herniated disc surgery I never thought I’d be back on a board but thanks to Clif Bar and an adventure packed weekend in Montauk I got back up.
I was invited to Charlotte Tilbury Master Class and got to learn from the best!
I also met Clive Christian, the man known for creating “the worlds most expensive perfume”, for the launch of his seventh fragrance pairing, Noble VII.
I did a segment on my Vanity Checklist for Amazon StyleCode Live! As it turns out I love doing live tv!
October
I got to have lunch with ByTerry founder, Terry de Gunzburg at the By Terry Rouge-Expert Click Stick launch!
I took a 10 day break to explore Portugal, going from Lisbon up the coast and around to Sintra.
I met Vikto and Rolf!!!!!!!!! I remember waking up at 5am to wait outside H&M for their designer collaboration so to meet them at the launch of their Magic Fragrance collection is such an honor.
November
Epic press trip to Cancun with the Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun and some much needed me-time!
I have so much admiration for the woman behind Colourpop, Laura Nelson. It was such a pleasure meeting her at the Colourpop x Hello Kitty launch!
I was invited to get the infamous $1500 Rossano Ferretti haircut by the legend himself! Kate Middleton and I now have something in common.
Interviewed my brow idol, Lily Collins at the premiere of her new movie, Rules Don’t Apply.
I went to Duke University to visit my little brother and got to paint with Lemurs at the Duke Lemur Center.
Getting to meet (okay we met before but still exciting…) GlamGlow co-founder Glenn Dellimore and get doused in the brands first true moisturizer, Volcasmic before the product launched!
Attending Oprah’s Favorite Things and being showered with gifts. While I would have died for Oprah to be there being with her right and left arm, Gayle King and Adam Glassman was next best!
