Ralph Lauretta received “Extraordinary Good Works” award on behalf of Sal Lauretta for Men for its philanthropic work benefiting Eva’s Village, a Paterson, NJ anti-poverty nonprofit, which has raised more than $460,000 to date.

Paterson, New Jersey (PRWEB) March 17, 2015

On March 11, 2015 the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey(CIANJ) recognized extraordinary acts of kindness from the business community at the Stony Hill Inn in Hackensack. "For most of these companies, their donations, kindness and community outreach are part of their corporate culture — their mission," said Martin Kafafian, who is also a managing member of the Beattie Padovano law firm in Montvale. "The public at large is often unaware of the magnitude and scope of the good works. This reception is our way of shining a spotlight on "Companies that Care."

Ralph Lauretta, owner of Sal Lauretta for Men, a family-owned, Midland Park men’s clothing store, received the top award for his “Extraordinary Good Works.” Over the past five years Ralph Lauretta has organized the ‘Behind the Seams’ fashion show that raised more than $460,000 for Eva’s Village, a social service agency in Paterson whose mission is to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, treat the addicted and provide medical and dental care to the poor. “Six years ago while waiting on a customer, Ralph Lauretta learned about Eva’s Village,” states Marie Reger, executive director of Eva’s Village. “From that conversation, Ralph took a personal interest in the work we do, and decided to hold a fashion event to help raise money for Eva’s hunger and sheltering programs.”

Sal Lauretta for Men, partnering with Bottagra Restaurant and The DSM Group will host the 6th Annual “Behind the Seams” fashion show, to benefit Eva’s Village, on May 18th from 5:30 – 10:00 pm at Bottagra Restaurant, located at 80 Wagaraw Road in Hawthorne. The exclusive fashion show will feature 2015 Spring/Summer styles by Robert Graham (currently available at Sal Lauretta’s) and Boutique 811. “I've always felt it is upon us to help our fellow neighbors in need,” stated Ralph Lauretta. “I was inspired to help Eva’s Village through the Behind the Seams fashion show – much like many of tonight’s honorees and the good works they are doing in the community. We at Sal Lauretta for Men will continue to help our local community in any way we can. The Behind the Seams fashion show continues to fulfill these beliefs and has been a labor of love from the very beginning.”

About Eva’s Village:

Eva’s Village (http://www.evasvillage.org), originally a New Jersey soup kitchen, was founded in 1982 by Msgr. Vincent E. Puma in response to the increasing incidence of homelessness in his Paterson, NJ parish. But Msgr. Puma soon realized that a soup kitchen was not enough. With the generous support of thousands of donors and private and government grants, Eva's has grown to be the most respected anti-poverty program in New Jersey. Their mission is to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, treat the addicted and provide medical and dental care to the poor with respect for the human dignity of each individual.
