Arizona's largest high school offers student athletes a 100% online education with a flexible schedule, rigorous curriculum and personalized support from highly qualified teachers

Primavera Online High School (http://www.chooseprimavera.com) announced today that the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) (http://www.ncaa.org) has approved numerous Primavera courses in math, science, English, social studies and foreign languages retroactively to the beginning of the 2014–2015 school year. Now Primavera student athletes who enroll in, or have already passed, qualifying courses can begin to establish their eligibility to play college sports.
Student athletes who want to advance in a sport such as soccer, baseball, softball, swimming, golf or basketball often don’t have time to attend a traditional high school because of demanding practice and competition schedules. Attending an online charter school such as Primavera allows these students to participate in local high school and traveling teams, all while completing their academic courses online.
Meghan Lyall, a 2014 Primavera graduate, earned a Division I full ride athletic scholarship to play tennis at Utah State University. She was named captain of the Aggie Women’s Tennis team for her sophomore year, and serves as a representative on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) while maintaining a 3.9 GPA. Lyall was notified her senior year in high school that online coursework was no longer NCAA approved. She notes that Primavera staff went the extra mile to facilitate communication between the school, the NCAA and her family to develop a solution that allowed her to graduate from Primavera while maintaining NCAA eligibility.
“I could not have pursued my tennis career the way I did without attending Primavera,” said Lyall. “I travelled to tournaments across the country and internationally, which allowed me to be seen by various college coaches and gave me multiple options when the time came to choose a college. Primavera offered me the flexibility I needed, but what really benefited me the most was the help I got from my teachers.”
