PAINWeek®—the largest US pain conference for frontline practitioners—is celebrating its 10th annual meeting. Joining the conference will be the American Pain Society (APS). Roger Fillingim, PhD, Awards Committee Chair at APS, commented, “For the 5th year in a row, APS will provide a series of presentations at PAINWeek. This year’s APS Track will address the state of the evidence regarding mind-body therapies for chronic pain.” Sessions on Friday, September 9, will include The Brain or the Body: What Is the Target for Pain Treatment?; Noninvasive Neuromodulatory Approaches to the Treatment of Chronic Pain; Acupuncture Analgesia: Therapy or Sham?; Neurochemical Imaging as a Probe of Chronic Pain and Its Treatment; and Hands On or Hands Off: A Tour of Current Issues Impacting Spinal Manipulative Therapy for Spinal Pain.
Dr. Fillingim added, “We are delighted to continue our collaboration with PAINWeek and to have the opportunity to interact with frontline practitioners at this important meeting.” Dr. Fillingim is a Distinguished Professor at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, and Director of the UF Pain Research and Intervention Center of Excellence in Gainesville.
Convening at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas September 6-10, PAINWeek 2016 expects to welcome over 2300 physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals for a comprehensive program of course offerings, satellite events, and exhibits. Additionally, over 100 exhibitors will be participating at the Exhibit Hall, commencing with the traditional Welcome Reception on Wednesday evening.

The PAINWeek curriculum now encompasses over 120 CE/CME course hours, enabling attendees to earn up to 35.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
