“The 30A Half Marathon is destined to become another signature annual event here in South Walton,“ said Mike Ragsdale of The 30A Company. “We’re proud to be a part of something that’s so much bigger than ourselves. It is important to give back to the community, but we also know how crucial it is to contribute to the global community. ”

All race proceeds will benefit The Sonder Project and their mission to change the world through high-impact, sustainable projects aimed at ending extreme poverty and fighting hunger worldwide.

“We think the race will be a ton of fun and will help us fund a wide variety of projects for those who need our help the most,” said Ashley Hamm, co-Founder of The Sonder Project.

The Sonder Project was founded to spread awareness, offer hope and offer a hand up to those suffering the most. Their international projects include building schools to educate boys and girls equally, providing safe drinking water, and coordinating deworming campaigns to allow healthy children to thrive and learn. Domestically, their Project: feed program is helping to feed the hungry all across the United States.

Jeff Archer of YOLO Board added, “YOLO Board at its core is about values that promote community and well-being. We couldn’t be more excited to be involved with this event because of its local presence and because beyond that it allows us to take part in a meaningful way building a stronger community as global citizens. We want to be a part of something that makes the world a better place, and that is exactly what The Sonder Project is doing.”

The event will feature three days of fun beginning Friday night with entertainment and refreshments at The HUB. Saturday will include another evening of exciting activities, and on Sunday runners can show up early to kick off the main event with the sunrise.
