The 10th Anniversary of National Pet Day will be celebrated on April 11th with a jump to being recognized as a global philanthropic brand.

Ten years after dedicating her life to saving pets of all kinds, Pet & Family Lifestyle Expert Colleen Paige, (also the founder of National Dog Day and National Cat Day) has grown National Pet Day from a regional event to an international philanthropic brand, celebrating the bond between humans and animals and helping to save the lives of countless pets worldwide. Trending on Twitter in 2014 and 2015 and being celebrated in the U.K., Canada, Ireland, Australia and many other countries around the globe, National Pet Day has garnered support from a plethora of A-List celebs to high ranking government and military officials.
"National Pet Day was a natural way for me to embrace all animals in one lifesaving mission, especially after National Dog Day and National Cat Day were such a success, says Paige. This year's celebration encourages pet adoption and includes the search for "The World's Cutest Pet" in which twenty photos submitted online using the #nationalpetday hashtag, will be selected for inclusion in a National Pet Day coffee table book, as well as receive a feature in the summer issue of Pet Home Magazine.
To expand the grand celebration, is a photo contest hosted by the new animated film "The Secret Life of Pets" by Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment, in collaboration with the Today Show, asking pet lovers to post photos of what their pets do when they're not at home, using the #Pets411 hashtag for a possible feature on April 11th.
