Barra joins board, Rose accepts SPSC position

The International Sleep Products Association (ISPA) welcomes Melissa Barra, Senior Vice President, Chief Strategy and Customer Relationship Officer at Select Comfort Corp., to the ISPA Board of Trustees, and Eric Rose, Director of Product Innovation at Select Comfort Corp. to the Sleep Products Safety Council (SPSC). The terms for each position will run through March 2018.

Barra has a broad background in strategy, finance, and operations. Prior to her current role at Select Comfort, she was Vice President of Consumer Insights and Strategy from February 2013 to January 2015. Prior to joining Select Comfort, Barra was Vice President of Process Reengineering Officer for Best Buy Co., Inc. from 2011 to 2012. In a dual role, she also served as Vice President of Finance, New Business Customer Solutions Group from 2010 to 2012. From 2005 to 2010, she held leadership positions in Strategic Alliances and Corporate Development for Best Buy. Prior to Best Buy, Barra held corporate finance and strategy leadership roles in companies in the U.S. and internationally, including Grupo Futuro S.A., Citibank, and GE Capital.

Eric Rose has over 20 years of experience in the mattress industry, spanning operations and product development. After receiving both bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Bob Jones University, Rose began an 18-year tenure with Park Place Corporation, where he was responsible for the operations of Park Place’s air mattress division, Comfortaire. During his time with Comfortaire, Rose managed general operations, retail relationships and product development. Resulting from Select Comfort’s purchase of Comfortaire in 2013, Rose joined the R&D team at Select Comfort and has served in that capacity where he has managed the development of several new product innovations.
