EC-Council Foundation invites teams to register for the international cybersecurity competition.

Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) March 12, 2015

The US capital will be this year’s stage for the final competitions of the world's premier international ethical hacking cyber game. Global CyberLympics is a non-profit, online, cybersecurity competition run by the EC-Council Foundation that brings together teams from all over the world to compete in challenges involving forensics, network defense, and pen testing. The World Finals will take place at ISACA’s CSX 2015 on October 20 in Washington, DC.

Last year, the world cyber games competition had more than 500 cybersecurity participants, representing more than 40 countries. The Cyber Padawans of the United States earned the title of the 2014 World Champions among a field of teams from Brazil, Peru, the Netherlands, Indonesia, India and Australia at ISACA’s EuroCACS conference in Barcelona, Spain.

The number of participants is expected to double in 2015 as the Global CyberLympics partnership with ISACA has increased interest and created a stronger reach to a broader audience. ISACA, which offers extensive training and education through its Cybersecurity Nexus (CSX), is a global association serving more than 115,000 professionals involved in cybersecurity, IT assurance, risk management and governance.

“More than 90 percent of companies planning to hire a cybersecurity professional this year say they will have trouble finding skilled candidates, according to ISACA’s Global Cybersecurity Status Report,” said ISACA International President Robert Stroud, CGEIT, CRISC. “That is why Global CyberLympics and CSX 2015 are so important—they help build skills and hands-on training that organizations around the world critically need.”

The Global CyberLympics elimination rounds will be complete by the last week of August. The preliminary and final rounds for the top two teams in each region will be held on October 20 at ISACA’s CSX 2015 conference. The top three teams still standing will receive trophies, medals, cash prizes, and worldwide recognition.

Teams at every level are encouraged to participate and represent their country. For the competition schedule or to register a team to participate in the games, visit http://www.cyberlympics.org. For information on ISACA’s CSX 2015 cybersecurity conference, visit http://www.isaca.org/cyber-con.
