EC-Council Foundation’s leading executive information security conference is the annual Global CISO Forum, and 2015’s event promises to be a referendum on the state of information security over the last year.
In a series of headline grabbing hacks, the holes in the [information security management of one leading organization after another have been made painfully public leading to more attention than ever on the role of the CISO. EC-Council Foundation is hoping that by bringing CISOs from around the world to one forum, real progress can be made toward a more secure global infrastructure.
The job of the CISO is growing increasingly complex and difficult as technology, and therefore risk from hacks, infiltrates more areas of the companies they work for. Each new hack splashed on the front page of mainstream new outlets reveals new ways failures in information security can affect the rest of the company. For example, the hack that Sony suffered influenced their revenue and reputation in a very public way.
Modern CISOs have to be educated on handling media relations, working with law enforcement, designing corporate awareness plans, and a vast array of extremely technical knowledge. The Global CISO Forum will address each of these areas, or tools that should be in a CISO’s doctor bag, via a mix of keynotes, panel discussions, and breakout sessions intended for brainstorming among attendees.
The events draw attendees and speakers from around the world, including Hong Kong, Egypt, the Netherlands, Bangladesh, Canada, the Philippines, Ghana, Sri Lanka, China, Zambia, Nigeria, the UAE, Switzerland, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Iceland, and all across the United States.
After the high-level talks, attendees will be treated to a cocktail reception as well as an awards ceremony intended to recognize the best and brightest in the executive information security community.
