Country Home Elevator, LLC is chosen to participate in the Home of Distinction tour in Overland Park, KS

Brighton, Missouri – October 27, 2015 – Country Home Elevator and Stairlift, LLC is the elevator vendor for the Home of Distinction located at 16001 S Cody Street Overland Park, KS 6602. This spectacular home located in The Enclave at Mills Farm was built by Starr Homes, LLC with interior design by award winning designer Janet Alhom, and features 18,876 sq. ft of living space on four floors.
“With the home tour showcasing this floor plan and design, we will be able to give the public a rare glimpse at one of our more unique installations,” says Country Home Elevator owner Craig Jones. “It’s not often that the public gets to see our residential elevators since most are installed in private residences.”
The elevator in the floor plan serves four levels including a lower level equipped with a spiral slide adding a fun secondary access a lower basketball court, fitness center, and arcade. Visitors will see a working home elevator, an overview of the installation process and see how design cues can accent a practical home option. A member of the CHE team will be present to answer any questions and share the projects’ details with the public.
“We are proud to be chosen as the elevator supplier for this home and be able to contribute to a project that supports local charities,” says Jones. “This project is not our typical home elevator installation but it does show how well a home elevator can fit into a home’s design and have an elegant presentation.”

There will be 19 vendors onsite showcasing their products and services. Visitors will be able see firsthand the work of multiple local based contractors, ask questions of the various crafts represented and get a feel for how the whole project came together.

Home elevators have traditionally been reserved for home of this caliber but now this is not the case. As baby boomers are looking to age at home versus other alternatives builders are seeing home elevators show up in an increasing number of renovations, custom homes and spec properties. There has been a huge architect driven push for home elevators, sources say. A standard elevators is 12 to 15 sq. ft and a midsized home elevators is 15 to 18 sq. ft. Some more luxurious homes will have large commercial elevators and 2 or more installations.
The Home of Distinction presentation will benefit KidsTLC™ which provides psychiatric treatment, community outreach, autism and wellness programs with a strong emphasis on family wellness and preserving the family unit. KidsTLC™ responds to the growing needs of the Kansas City Metro by adding critically needed services that fill community gaps and alleviate wait times for families to receive care.
