Meet the millennial of College Financial Aid Advisors.

Jodi Okun, founder and president of College Financial Aid Advisors (CFAA) has named Alexandra Teixeira as Associate Director of the college financial aid consulting firm. CFAA was founded by Okun in 2008 as a way of providing a personalized, one on one service for families who seek financial aid for their children’s higher education. It has been growing steadily ever since then.
“I believe that more parents and students are becoming increasingly confused by college financial aid, scholarships and student loans,” commented Okun. “That is why so many of them seem to be coming to CFAA for advice and direction. Our job is to listen to parents and students, help them navigate the entire process, and find a solution that is best for their family’s unique situation.”
Teixeira graduated from Boston University, and will be working with Okun to create systems and processes which will allow the rapidly-growing company to continue offering its services in an efficient and personal manner. Job duties include managing projects and building brand awareness, as well as being responsible for rebuilding the new website. She helps students apply for college scholarships and counsels current undergraduates and recent graduates on student loans.
“Millennials are a rising, dominant force in our country,” added Okun. “Alex is the millennial face of CFAA. She will be working side-by-side with me to help the students of this generation attain their dream of attending college, without putting a huge financial strain on everyone involved. We’re here to make the process easier so that every student who wants to attend college has a realistic opportunity of doing so.”
Okun says that Teixeira has a solid understanding of the college financial aid process, and will work more directly with clients as she spreads the word about the topics of financial aid and small business entrepreneurship. CFAA educates and keeps in touch with students and parents through Twitter, blogs, Facebook, Pinterest and e-newsletters, but Okun also speaks frequently on college financial aid and has been interviewed repeatedly about the best ways to help students realize their college dreams. She is currently writing a book, “Secrets of a Financial Aid Pro,” which covers the entire college planning process in a reality-based, down-to-earth style. The book is scheduled to come out in the fall of 2015.
