Le Creuset Celebrates 90 Years in Business, Introduces New E-Commerce Experience

Blue Acorn, a premium e-commerce design, development and optimization agency, today announces the launch of a new e-commerce website for Le Creuset, a global manufacturer and retailer of high-end enameled cast iron cookware.
Celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2015, Le Creuset identified an opportunity to rebrand its site to create a more rewarding user experience and chose Magento Enterprise Edition 1.14 as its platform. The company turned to Blue Acorn to create a modern, intuitive e-commerce site that would also capture the 90-year-old company’s respect for tradition and authenticity. Le Creuset selected Magento, in part, because the scalable platform allows for international expansion.
“Blue Acorn understood our desire to balance world-class content and compelling visual presentation with seamless transactional performance. After defining design principles based on the timeless Bauhaus concept, Blue Acorn worked with Le Creuset’s team of marketers, designers and photographers to rebrand the Le Creuset experience, from in-store to online. The new, responsive e-commerce site features engaging ways to shop for and filter products including by color, size, function and type of material with the swipe of a finger. The redesign includes robust content, such as recipes and profiles of top chefs, to create a captivating online cooking experience that appeals to Le Creuset’s emotionally-guided customers.
“The design and development teams were challenged with creating a modern user experience while honoring Le Creuset’s rich heritage,” said Brad Redding, development team general manager at Blue Acorn. “After a successful redesign and implementation, we’re excited to continue working with Le Creuset as they make their new e-commerce experience available to a global audience.”
