After conducting a nationwide executive search led by healthcare leadership solutions firm B. E. Smith, Barlow Respiratory Hospital in Los Angeles, California, has hired Amit Mohan, FACHE, FACMPE as the new CEO. An experienced leader with 18 years of clinical and leadership expertise in healthcare, Mohan will assume his new duties at Barlow Respiratory Hospital on November 1st.

Mohan currently serves as Executive Director for Shore Rehabilitation Institute in Brick, New Jersey. In this role he functions in a CEO capacity for a joint venture, not-for-profit rehabilitation hospital established by two of the leading New Jersey health systems. Under Mohan’s leadership, the team has made notable improvements expanding access to care, adding new programs, improving care quality, improving team member engagement and achieving solid financial performance. Previously, Mohan held various leadership positions across the post-acute continuum as well as in acute care hospitals.

Mohan is currently a Doctoral candidate in Business Administration at North Central University. He earned a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Delhi in India. Mohan has completed various executive education programs including the coveted American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Executive Program and multiple other quality improvement programs. He is currently completing the Improvement Advisor program with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). He also holds the Green Belt in Lean Sigma from Armstrong Institute of patient safety at Johns Hopkins University. Mohan has achieved fellow status (FACHE) with ACHE and fellow status with the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE). Mohan is a licensed Physical Therapist in California and is Board Certified in Geriatrics Physical Therapy. Amit and his family are excited to move back to Southern California.
