In light of an October 24, 2015, article in The New York Times stating that the median LSAT score of students admitted to Florida Coastal School of Law was in the bottom quarter of all test-takers nationwide, who are “unlikely to ever pass the bar exam,” attorney Evan D. Frankel, of Frankel Law, shares tips on what to look for when hiring a qualified attorney.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) December 04, 2015

According to The New York Times article, most of Florida Coastal students are leaving law school with a degree they can’t use, and then fail to pass the bar in alarmingly high numbers. For reasons such as this, Frankel stresses first and foremost finding a lawyer that has not only passed the bar, but is licensed to practice law.

“The hiring of a qualified attorney can be confusing, particularly in this age of instant information, as oftentimes it becomes difficult for the average person, with difficult, emotional and often complex matters, to make sense of the myriad of information provided by advertisements and results-driven advice from well-meaning friends and family,” said Frankel. “That being said, it is crucial to find an attorney that will make the effort to put their relationship with you as their client at the forefront of their representation.”

A qualified attorney, adds Frankel, should focus on the complete evaluation of your goals. They should also provide frank and honest advice to potential clients about their path to success.

“Reputable attorneys strive to educate potential clients on the costs and benefits of a proposed representation relative to the expectations of the client,” said Frankel. “They should also seek to develop a strategy toward achieving client goals from the first meeting in an effort to best utilize their investment in a legal action.”
