Judged by a panel of top travel industry professionals, these premier awards honor a high standard of excellence within the travel industry and celebrate the best cruise ships and lines worldwide.
The 2016 Gold Magellan Award was received for the Queen of the Mississippi in the River Cruise Ship Category. Launched in 2015, Queen of the Mississippi is an authentic paddlewheeler with modern amenities including the largest staterooms in the industry, hotel-style bathrooms, and private balconies. In addition to receiving the highest award for this state-of-the-art riverboat, American Cruise Lines also received the 2016 Silver Magellan Award for Best River Cruising in the River Cruising Category.
Other awards received include, North America’s Leading River Cruise Company by World Travel Awards and the 2016 Cruise Critic® US Editor’s Pick Award for Best Enrichment. Judges were impressed with the line’s engaging onboard speakers and historians whose programs enhance guided onshore excursions and offer context to the passing scenery.
