MTV UK has struck a deal to become the official broadcast partner of V Festival, sponsored by Virgin Media, – the annual, open-air, live music festival staged simultaneously across two parks during the penultimate weekend of August.
As the exclusive broadcast partner, MTV UK will showcase many of the festival’s live performance acts across two premiere weekends at the end of summer (30 and 31 August and 6 and 7 September) on its flagship UK music TV channels, MTV MUSIC and MTV LIVE HD. TV highlights from the festival will air across MTV’s full portfolio of music channels over the following weeks.
MTV’s news and digital production teams will also be at the V Festival to feed through live updates and bulletins throughout the weekend via its online platforms including MTV News, mtv.co.uk and its MTV branded accounts on social media platforms including, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
This year’s V Festival will take place in Weston Park, Staffordshire and Hylands Park, Chelmsford on 16 and 17 August. As one of the biggest dates in the festival calendar – attracting more than 170,000 festival-goers across two days – V Festival is returning for its 19th year with another impressive line-up of over 120 artists.

V Festival is one of a number of broadcast partnerships that MTV UK has lined up for 2014 with UK music festivals, making MTV the best place to tune in and watch music events this year. Other festival highlights for 2014 include Snowbombing, which takes place in the alpine peaks of Austria in April and Ibiza and Mallorca Rocks in Summer 2014.
