The Celebrty Net Worth website is trying to drum up some buzz by releasing lists of the richest musicians at respective positions in a band. While those who are hankering to know the world's richest banjo player are currently out of luck, the list has just gone up for the richest lead singers in the world. The website says that all of its information was obtained from publicly available records about an artist's salaries, record sales, real estate holdings, endorsement deals, divorces and royalties while subtracting taxes, business fees and lifestyle expenses. In something that should surprise no one, former Wings member Paul McCartney heads the list, and is worth nearly a billion dollars. U2's Bono could at one time have had the top spot, but somebody invested a bit too much money in Facebook stock. Possibly the least (or most, depending on your point of view) heartening piece of information on the list is that Scott Stapp and Chad Kroeger have both made more money in the rock game that Rush frontman Geddy Lee. The list of the first fifty follows. [NME]
