Assist Conference Programme
I am absolutely delighted to announce the Assist Conference 2016 programme. It is packed full of thought-provoking, relevant and informative content which will help you take your tool kit to the next level!
Programme highlights
Plenary session: Confidence at work
Speaker: Jenny Garrett, Founder, Reflexion Associates Leadership Consultancy and Rocking Ur Teens CIC
Having low self-esteem or confidence issues can be a real challenge in life, particularly in the office and particularly for Assistants. Assistants have a difficult job and if they are unable to stand up for themselves this makes the role a lot harder. It can lead to feeling unchallenged, unappreciated and more importantly managed ineffectively by their Executive. In this fun and interactive session Jenny will look at ways to help Assistants overcome any of their confidence issues.
Panel Session: Discretion
Speakers:
Chaired by Merryl Futerman, Founder, PA Access All Areas
Cressida Ford, Portfolio Management and IT Services, Cardiff University
Vicky Silverthorn, Professional Organiser for You Need A Vicky & Author of ‘Start With Your Sock Drawer’
Polly Hadden-Paton, Founder of You Need A PA
Donna Lindsay, PA, Scottish Government
An assistant’s ability to handle confidential subjects, issues, emails and documents with discretion is crucial. The mixture of PA panellists will discuss how they overcome difficult situations with discretion and retained their Executive’s confidence.
Keynote Session: Developing the entrepreneurial mindset
Speaker: Rebecca Jones MA, PGCE, MPSA, The Red Shoe Biz Woman
An enterprising approach is an excellent way for Assistants to add more value to their organisation. Having an entrepreneurial mindset as part of your Tool Kit will allow you to, not just make suggestions, but to action ideas on how to increase profitability, fill funding gaps, improve the stability of the organisation and support future growth. Not only that, but Assistants may well see an improvement in their esteem, recognition and rewards.
