Community Association Institute (CAI), the US-based Community Associations Institute (CAI), an international organization dedicated to building better communities and managing owners associations, has presented its coveted ‘The President’s Award’ to Jeevan D’Mello, Senior Director of Emaar Community Management (ECM).

D’Mello accepted the award during CAI’s Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida. Given at the discretion of CAI’s immediate past President Dennis Abbott, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, the award recognizes what CAI termed as D’Mello’s “enthusiastic, tireless and effective effects to promote CAI professional education and designations throughout the Middle East, thus bringing international best practices in community management to a relatively new industry.”

“We were especially pleased to honor Jeevan and show him the appreciation of CAI members,” said CAI Chief Executive Officer Thomas M. Skiba, CAE. “This is one of the most coveted honors we bestow, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving than Jeevan. The award is a testament to the growing professionalism in the community management industry in Dubai and throughout the United Arab Emirates. His personal recognition reflects Emaar’s unwavering commitment to education and training for community managers in Dubai and throughout the United Arab Emirates.”

It is the first time in the 41-year history of CAI that the coveted honor has been bestowed on a non-American and non-resident of the US for bringing international best practices in community management to Dubai and the Middle East.

D’Mello was selected from over 33,000 members of CAI from over 61 chapters globally including in Australia, Canada, South Africa, UK and the UAE. Named as CAI’s ‘Rising Star’ three years ago, D’Mello is a commissioner on the Community Association Managers International Certification Board.

CAI’s membership and reach has expanded in recent years to South Africa, the Middle East, Australia and other areas. CAI provides information, education and resources to community associations and the professionals who support them. CAI’s mission is to inspire professionalism, effective leadership and responsible citizenship—ideals reflected in communities that are preferred places to call home. Visit www.caionline.org. />
