In the presence of HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Water and Electricity, Eng. Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al Hussein, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Tawfiq Al -Rabiah, and the Governor of Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) H.E. Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Kossibi, Al Salem Johnson Controls (ASJC), the sole manufacturer and distributer of equipment and spare parts for (YORK) air conditioning in the Kingdom, participated in the workshop organized by the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC) under the title (The Role of A/C Companies in Energy Conservation National Campaign) in Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz hall at Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh.

The workshop was attended by a group of specialists in the fields of air conditioning, refrigeration, and energy, and a number of manufacturers, suppliers and major distributors of air-conditioning in the Kingdom. The event witnessed a small exhibition which included the new air conditioning equipment complying with the new standards.

Eng. Basil Abdulaziz, ASJC’s VP and GM explained “The workshop served to clarify the new regulations and specifications for air-conditioning equipment set recently by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The ministry is closely monitoring the market as part of its campaign to raise awareness about using electricity efficiency in the household and in particular air conditioners which consume a large electric energy produced in the Kingdom.”

The workshop aimed to define the role of manufacturers and suppliers of air-conditioners in providing more energy efficient equipment while also aiming to create constructive partnerships with organizations to participate in the implementation of the campaign
