PPEF 2015 Scholarship Applications Accepted Through March 16
The Promotional Products Education Foundation (PPEF) is now taking applications for its scholarship program for the 2015-2016 school year. PPEF, which has awarded approximately $1,267,000 in financial assistance since its inception in 1989, is set to award $150,000 in scholarships, the most it has ever awarded in a single year.

PPPC National Convention Spurs Industry Conversation
Promotional Products Professionals of Canada (PPPC) held its 2015 National Convention January 26-30 in Toronto, Ontario. The 59th annual National Convention featured professional development, a trade show and networking opportunities. This year, 217 exhibitors at more than 400 booths welcomed almost 3,000 attendees to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Strong Ecommerce, Branded Apparel Performance Shore Up Delta Apparel’s First Quarter Earnings
Industry supplier Delta Apparel, Inc. (UPIC: delta03) has reported net sales of $93.4 million for its fiscal 2015 first-quarter ended December 27, 2014, versus $100 million for the comparable 2014 period. Continued growth in its Salt Life line and on all of the company’s ecommerce sites was offset by lower sales in other business units.

EBSCO Creative Concepts Acquires Concept Promotions
EBSCO Creative Concepts (UPIC: EBSC0001) has acquired fellow Alabama distributor Concept Promotions (UPIC: concept2). Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Concept Promotions will continue to operate under its own brand and with its existing staff out of its offices in Daphne. President Pam Brown will become a regional sales manager at EBSCO. Birmingham-based EBSCO’s acquisition of Concept Promotion is part of its planned expansion into the southern part of the state.
Postal Service Reports Revenues Up In First Quarter 2015
The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) ended the first quarter of fiscal year 2015 (October 1, 2014 – Dec. 31, 2014) with a 4.3 percent increase in operating revenue over the same period last year and a net loss of $754 million.

PPAI Expo Exhibitors Give Generously To Benefit Underprivileged Schools
Fifty-three exhibiting suppliers at The PPAI Expo 2015 helped underprivileged schools in the Las Vegas area by donating their extra samples to the Kids In Need Foundation after the show. The retail value of the donated products this year is estimated at more than $31,000.

On February 18, PPAI is hosting a Prop 65 & State Regulations webinar, part of the final live Product Safety Awareness webinar series ahead of Expo East. This course covers California state regulations, and identifies hazards, product responsibility resources, compliance standards and guidelines, and is one of the four required courses to achieve PSA status.
