Ombak Bali International Surf Film Festival 2015

3 Days of surf film, music, & art. Ombak Bali is the 1st showcase for international independent surf films and documentaries in South East Asia. Based in Bali Indonesia, Ombak Bali screens Indonesian and international surf films and documentaries and provides filmmakers who are exploring the diversity of surfing an opportunity to present their work to a larger audience. Ombak Bali will celebrate its 8th edition on August 6th – 8th 2015 at La Plancha, Seminyak. So don’t miss it!

Sunny Side Up Tropical Festival

A unique one day – one stage cultural music festival based in one of the most world’s most tropical destinations, Bali. The festival brings together a selection of cutting edge international artists and DJ’s spanning a wide variety of genres, with Passion Pit, Jessie Ware, and many more performing throughout the day and into the night. The venue for Sunny Side Up is the award winning Potato Head Beach Club, one of the world’s finest beach club, known for its unique design and amazing Balinese beachfront location. Located in the heart of Seminyak, Potato Head Beach Club is the ideal location for the festival. The stage and bars are all designed from locally sourced materials such as bamboo, giving a unique island feel to the event.  The festival would be held on 7th August 2015. So don’t miss it!

Ubud Village Jazz Festival 2015

A music festival situated in the artistic surroundings of Ubud Bali, Indonesia. Since 2010 Yuri Mahatma, a musician, a composer and a music teacher, and a founder of Underground Jazz Movement together with Anom Darsana, the director and owner of ANTIDA Music Productions, had worked together for some routine projects of jazz concerts, each time with different theme. In the early of 2012 they conceived the idea of a community concert. With the involvement and support of majority of artist communities, the concept of hosting a community concert in this unique village was born. 7th – 8th August 2015 they proudly present a lot of stunning performers:

Oran Etkin “Gathering Light”, Nial Djuliarso Quartet & Laura Brunner, Julian Banks Trio, Miles! Featuring Michael Varenkamp And Ben Van Den Dungen, Dwiki Dharmawan, Indra Lesmana, Dewa Budjana, The Nita Aartsen Trio, The Sandy Winarta Nu Quartet, Dion Janapria, Dodot & Co, Koko Harsoe, Ito Kurdhi, Kirana Big Band, Alex Lahey, Gustu Brahmanta Rindik Project, Underground Jazz Movement. This huge festival will take place at Arma Ubud. So safe the date! See you there!

Jazz Market by the Sea

An annual community based event comprising of colorful music combined with market feel environment and cultural activities. Proud to be Indonesian, the objective of this event is to promote growing Indonesian talents with a special emphasis on creative collaborations and improvisations of traditional Indonesian and jazzy music. Inspired by traditional Balinese market; pasar seni, the Market highlights where the action of community centers around. It is in this hustle and bustle where people can have insight into real culture. Around 80 unique stalls from: food and beverage, fashion, art and crafts. The event is held to create awareness about preserving Indonesia’s natural heritage. ‘Jazz Market by the Sea’ will take place on 14th – 16th August 2015 from 2pm until 11pm at Taman Baghawan.

Indonesian Independence Day

Monday, August 17th 2015 is a special day for Indonesia to celebrate their 70th anniversary. The day when all of Indonesian people celebrate their freedom. Take a flashback when our 1st President, Mr. Soekarno, declare The Proclamation of Indonesian Independence. On the several days before Indonesian Independence Day, there will be a lot of traditional game competitions in each village around Indonesia. So just take a walk, you will see some beautiful moment of torch relay, race walking competition, and many more traditional game competitions. Finally, on the important day, August 17th, there is only a holy flag ceremony everywhere. Happy Indonesian Independence Day!
