A few quick TRICKS that add up to a major TREAT
Hey There Pros,
We wanted to share three quick tricks you can use in your classes that will prove a real treat for your Posse!
Before Class
Tone is everything. Before your participants walk through the door be sure to set the vibe in the room. Have POUND-inspired music playing lightly and, if you can, turn down a couple lights. This IS a rock show after all. These small details go a long way to creating a true rock 'n' roll experience for your participants.
During Class
High energy and elevated heart rates are key. Try to keep your POUNDtrack playing for the duration of the workout (versus stopping between every track to talk). Stopping is acceptable for some audiences; such as, those that are brand new to POUND and need to better understand positions or difficult techniques, those that are deconditioned, or those who are new to exercise in general. However, average-level participants will benefit more if you keep the class moving. Consistent movement not only keeps the heart rate elevated, but also keeps the energy high throughout class.
As an option for participants who may need a little time between tracks, we recommend putting in a 10-second blank track between each song on your POUNDtrack. 10-seconds is ample time to setup the next position or track, without allowing too much time for the heart rate or class energy to decrease. (Tip: search iTunes for "silent" or "silence" tracks of varying lengths).
After Class
At the end of class honor the decision each participant made by coming to POUND with a simple “thank you for coming and I hope to see you next class!” POUND is about connection, community and the awesome experience we provide our Posse. A simple smile, thank you and see you soon goes a long way to build rapport and keep people returning to class again and again.
