The collaborative efforts of Prefuse 73 and Teebs is a pretty magnificent combination. Their sounds complement each other seamlessly, as Prefuse’s complex layers fine refuge with Teebs’ lo-fi minimalism. We have been waiting for some new music from the two since they announced their work together, and today we are finally satisfied. “The Way The Winter Passed Us Up” is vibrant in every way possible. With wonky percussion driving the piece, crisp melodies are woven throughout with utmost ease.
The Sons of the Morning collaboration marks the first of many for Prefuse 73, who plans on working with many artists to create EPs as part of his Speak Soon series. Watch the video for “The Way The Winter Passed Us Up” and stay tuned for more.
