After Landmark Theatres decided not to renew their lease at the Egyptian Theatre earlier this week, Seattle Central Community College (the theater is part of their Fine Arts building) announced today that it will solicit public proposals for what next to do with the building.

The public process, called a Request for Proposal for the space, will be open to all interested parties within a month. According to a press release sent today, you can expect to read about the specific proposal parameters in "several publications with details on the scope and dimension required in submitting proposals."

SCCC made it a point that the Egyptian Theatre name and exterior won't change, and they hope to keep using the theater for the Seattle International Film Festival.

I want to use the theater to play the "Walk Like An Egyptian" music video ad infinitum. What'll you propose?
