Mark Miloscia Again: The Federal Way Republican who had lots of feelings to share last year about how Seattle is handling homelessness now wants to ban safe consumption sites. The City of Seattle and King County are considering the sites, where people could smoke or inject drugs under the supervision of medical staff in order to prevent overdoses, after they were recommended by a task force on the opioid epidemic. Despite evidence that the sites save lives, Miloscia says, "We must stop the push for decriminalization of drugs."
West Seattle 7-Eleven Clerk Shot in Apparent Robbery Attempt: Seattle Police say they responded to a call from the store at 16th Avenue Southwest and Southwest Holden Street around 2:40 this morning. According to the SPD Blotter: "The on-duty clerk received non-life threatening injuries when a suspect, standing outside the locked doors, fired from a shotgun through the glass door. The clerk was injured from the shotgun pellets and glass, but the injuries are not serious. The employee was treated at the scene and then transported to a local hospital for further treatment."
Seattle Barred from Releasing Information about FBI Surveillance Cameras: "Seattle had planned to release information about the cameras under a public records request," KING 5 reports, "but the FBI said that would jeopardize its ability to conduct investigations and that the city had already promised not to disclose it."
Man Barricades Self Inside Metro Bus: Police say a man barricaded himself inside a bus at a park and ride in Bellevue Tuesday afternoon. The driver and riders were able to exit the bus before police began negotiating with the man and eventually took him into custody.

Kshama Sawant vs. Seattle Public Schools: As some students plan to walk out of class on Inauguration Day, Seattle Public Schools is warning their parents they are likely to receive an unexcused absence if they do. In response, Seattle City Council member Kshama Sawant started a petition supporting the students and wrote on her blog: "SPS needs to recognize these protests as legitimate actions in defense of the rights of students, their families, and fellow community members who are directly threatened by President-Elect Trump’s racist, anti-immigrant, Islamophobic, misogynistic, anti-LGBTQ, and anti-worker agenda." A district spokesperson told the Seattle Times each school's principal will make the final call about how to respond to students who walk out.
