The lottery for the district’s magnet schools closes 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27. Families of incoming kindergartners will be able to access the magnet application online at magnetlottery.rdale.org.

Paper copies of the magnet applications will also be available at all schools and at the Education Service Center, 4148 Winnetka Ave. N., New Hope.

Incoming kindergarten students with siblings enrolled at the engineering or Spanish immersion schools who meet the application deadline will automatically be enrolled through the sibling preference policy.

The 2015-2016 school year will mark the second year of statewide all-day kindergarten, which provides a strong and comprehensive early learning foundation for students, says Dr. Lori Simon, Robbinsdale Area Schools’ executive director of Academics and Elementary Schools.

“We are excited to welcome our new kindergartners,” Simon said. “We hope families will come and see how our strong program is preparing students to succeed throughout their K-12 experience.”
