The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ali Modu-Sheriff, has on behalf of the party’s National Executive Committee, NEC, condoled with the Federal Government and President Muhammadu Buhari on the tragic death of the Minister of State for Labour, James Ocholi (SAN), his wife and son in a car crash on Sunday, March 6.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, in a statement in Abuja on Monday, March 7, said the sad development came to the PDP as a huge shock.

Sheriff also commiserated with the minister’s family, and prayed to God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The former governor of Borno State said the family should take solace in the exemplary and patriotic life lived by the late minister as well as his immense contributions to the legal profession and the nation at large.

Also reacting, the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress, APC, had on Sunday stated that the news of Ocholi’s death was received with great shock and sadness.

The APC National Secretary, Mai Mala Buni in a condolence message described the deaths as a monumental loss.

Buni prayed for the recovery of other victims of the ghastly vehicle accident including the late minister’s driver and aides who reportedly sustained serious injuries.

The APC National Secretary said the late Ocholi who was the party’s former Deputy National Legal Adviser will be remembered for his selfless service to the country as minister, party, legal profession and his home state, Kogi.

While extending his condolences to the people and government of Kogi state, Buni prayed to Almighty God to grant Ocholi’s immediate family the fortitude to bear the painful loss.
