From an email:
“We are thrilled to announce that SoulCycle, the country’s premier cycle studio, will open it’s FIRST studio in Washington, D.C. in late July.
SoulCycle has fast become a national obsession – the 45 minute group exercise classes sell out in their 30 locations around the country in a matter of minutes, if not seconds. They are attributed to reinventing the game of indoor cycling, by making it a full-body workout, in candlelight.”
Full press release after the jump:
“SoulCycle, the country’s premier indoor cycling studio will open its first studio in Washington D.C. this summer. The opening marks the brands thirtieth studio nationwide.
At over 3,000 square feet, SoulCycle D.C. features a 55-bike studio, home to the signature SoulCycle workout, and a SOUL retail boutique, selling SoulCycle’s original clothing collection. Additional rider amenities include showers, bathrooms and a locker area. SoulCycle D.C. is located at 2301 M Street NW, Washington DC 20037. SoulCycle D.C. is the first Washington area studio and will be followed by SoulCycle Bethesda in the fall.
“Washington D.C. is a vibrant and active city. We know Washingtonians are going to embrace and cultivate the SoulCycle community,” said Elizabeth Cutler, co-founder of SoulCycle.
The SoulCycle Experience:
SoulCycle is a motivating, joyful, full-body indoor cycling dance party on a bike. SoulCycle was founded on the belief that fitness could be inspiring: With a motivational workout, a beautiful environment and outstanding customer service, each 45-minute class is a transformative experience.
Co-founded by Elizabeth Cutler and Julie Rice, SoulCycle opened its first location in New York City in 2006. By combining a unique mental component of inspirational coaching, with great music, and a full-body workout on a bike, SoulCycle immediately reinvented indoor-studio cycling and simultaneously innovated boutique cardio fitness in the marketplace.
Today, over 8,000 riders take SoulCycle classes everyday to release stress, burn fat, tone muscle, and change their bodies and lives. At SoulCycle riders burn calories, and tone their upper bodies using hand weights and core-engaging choreography. The SoulCycle brand experience is high energy, results-oriented, and community based. The exercise program focuses on rhythm and the “energy of the pack,” which creates a strong bond between riders. Familiar faces in SoulCycle studios include Oprah, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Olivia Wilde, David Beckham, and Bradley Cooper. SoulCycle is expected to expand from its current thirty locations to upwards of sixty locations over the next five years with additional studios in New York, Los Angeles, London, and beyond.”
