Review:

Monster World is shaping up to be a great monster noir type, mystery series, comic book. Another great monster feature title from the American Gothic Press Publishing group, the guys who know a bit or two about monsters. As we are taken back by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night, Broken Moon) and Philip Kim (Famous Monsters Magazine) to that time in classic American history in the early boom of Hollywood. When men called ladies “dames” and ladies call men “sugar,” a time when monster movies were the big draw at the cinema. Private dick Henry Barrymore finds himself caught up in a world of living horror as the screen creatures seem to be real life monsters! Monster World comes at you with a very well written, drawn and especially fantastic ambient colored comic. This is another fabulous horror title from AGP and the man of comic horror, Steve Niles.

Official Synopsis:

Something sinister is lurking behind the cameras of world-famous World Studios, and it may not be human. When Detective Henry Barrymore is approached by a mysterious woman to investigate her husband’s disappearance, he hardly expects to be embroiled in the workings of a mysterious cult who seem to have control over movie monsters. It’s Casablanca meets Crowley in this supernatural noir miniseries!
