Good Sunday morning. Yes, it’s early but we had a POLITICO/Morning Consult poll in the field yesterday. We polled 1,549 registered voters, with 1,390 likely voters. Here’s what we found in our initial reaction:
--70% of Democrats and 12% of Republicans think Trump should drop out of the race.
--WE DIAL TESTED THE VIDEO, AND IT ISN’T GOOD. 74% of voters had a negative reaction to the video. 47% said they had a “very negative” reaction to the video -- the worst rating. 69% of Democrats said they had a very negative impression. 22% of Republicans had a very negative reaction. 10% of Republicans said the video gave them a positive feeling.
-- 48% of respondents said this is how men talk in private. 36% said it’s not. 48% said these were Trump’s views, and 40% chalked it up to locker room banter.
--HILLARY CLINTON IS WINNING. She’s up four points -- 42% to 38% -- in both the four-way race, and 45% to 41% in the two-way race.

WHAT REPUBLICANS ARE SAYING -- Whether you like Trump or not and think he should drop out of the race or not, there are 469 other races for Congress on ballots around the country in a few weeks, and senior GOP operatives are beginning to be very concerned.Whatever you think the fallout will be, the House is more in play today than it was Friday morning. That’s not us saying it, that’s top Republicans who are desperately trying to keep control of the chamber in the year of Trump.
IN THE SENATE, top operatives are becoming more and more concerned about Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) and Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), and expect to see more action there in the coming days and weeks. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) looked like he was coasting to victory, but new polling has the race close. THE BIGGEST CONCERN -- That Republicans just don’t show up to vote.
