(CNN) – It looks like Gov. Chris Christie may have a Bruce Springsteen problem.
Christie's music idol took the stage Tuesday on NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" with the show's host to sing a parody about the bridge controversy surrounding the New Jersey governor.

Singing to the tune of Springsteen's classic "Born to Run," Fallon kicked off the song dressed up as the legendary rockstar.
"In the day we sweated out on the streets stuck in traffic on the GWB / they shut down the toll booths of glory cuz we didn't endorse Christie," Fallon sang, strumming his guitar.
A couple lyrics later: "Maybe this bridgegate was just payback / It's a bit** slap to state Democrats / We gotta get out while we can."
Then he hit the chorus: "We're stuck in Governor Chris Christie's Fort Lee, New Jersey traffic jam."
Emerging from backstage, the New Jersey born-and-bred Springsteen joined Fallon, dressed in the same outfit.
"Governor, let me in, I want to be your friend, there'll be no partisan divisions / let me wrap my legs round your mighty ribs, relieve your stressful condition," he sang. "Man I really gotta take a leak, but I can't / I'm stuck in Governor Chris Christie's Fort Lee, New Jersey traffic jam."
Fallon and Springsteen also took a shot at Christie's nearly two-hour press conference last week, in which he announced he fired two of his top aides and said he was never involved or had any knowledge of the plot to close access lanes to the George Washington Bridge.
"Highway's jammed with pissed off drivers with no place left to go, and the press conference went on and on," Fallon sang.
Springsteen jumped in: "It was longer than one of my own damn shows."
Christie has never been shy about his adoration for Springsteen, a New Jersey icon. The governor has reportedly been to more than 130 of "The Boss's" concerts.
But the musician, a known Democrat who campaigned for President Obama in 2012, has never quite returned the same admiration. While he praised Christie for his leadership in the immediate aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, he has done little else to show high regard for his superfan.
In his State of the State speech on Tuesday, Christie addressed the bridge scandal. Newly released documents suggested last week that his top aides orchestrated the closing of access lanes to the nation's busiest bridge in an alleged act of political retribution.
