Yesterday we shared our latest inspiration shoot Love is The New Black and today we wanted to give you a few expert wedding styling tips to show you how achievable it is.

THE LOOK  // BOLD, FUN AND FIERCE

This look is all about expressing personality and having a little fun. Our bride is bold, sassy and a little bit flirty, she’s a dedicated follower of fashion who doesn’t take herself or life too seriously.

The Belle & Bunty slinky silk Petal Dress above in Bridal Look 1 gives a little nod to her sassy yet sophisticated style with it’s elegant slim-fitting style with pretty layered handcrafted silk petal detailing and stunningly risque low scooped back. Whilst the intricately created statement floral headpiece in a riot of bold colours and exotic flowers by Frog Flowers shows her wild side. Hair is kept simple and sexy in a long fishtail plait finished off with a cheeky hint of pale blue hair paint on the very tip. How beautiful it looks cascading down her back showing off the striking back of the gown.

Of course our bride deserves more than one fabulous frock on her wedding day, so for the reception she has changed into a short and flirty number The Pearly Queen by Kitty & Dulcie. Perfect for dancing the night away in a pair of killer heels.

Of course the look is not complete without an edgy accessory or two, like these fashion-forward bow headpieces created for us by Quanitrelle Millinery. Bridal Look 2 above keeps things really fun with the addition of bright colours, while Bridal Look 3 below is full of sass whilst still retaining a sophisticated air.

THE TABLESCAPE  // DINING IN STYLE

To give your tables a real wow-factor add striped linens, they command just enough attention to showcase a bright and bold design. Then layer on decor pieces of varying heights for an unstructured and effortless style.

Mix one wow-factor centrepiece with smaller arrangements and simple bud vases bursting with bright-coloured florals. Kate Spade owl vases from Amara add a fun feel, whilst clear glass candlesticks (Find similar at Homebase) and black column candles (Amara) ensure a sophisticated edge.

Tolix-style chairs are a design-classic and deserve to be shown off, no polyester chair-covers in sight! Tie a black balloon draped with monochrome festooning (Peach Blossom) to the bride and groom chairs for an eclectic and unexpected touch.

Make each place setting extra special by mixing up a variety of monochrome patterns and textures to make a real style statement. We used Rob Ryan hand-drawn plates , sat atop pure white chargers and a pressed-vinyl Dahlia placemat (all Amara), you can create similar on a budget by using paper placemats printed with a bold pattern. Fold custom-made polka-dot napkins to look like bow-ties for a fun little twist using bold fabrics, this one was a real purse-friendly find from Ikea.  Custom-designed placename cards sit within cute polka-dotted animals, perfect to double up as a unique and fun favour. Silverware tied with monochrome striped ribbon completes the simple, yet chic vibe.

STREET FOOD // DISHING UP A FEAST

Forget the formal wedding breakfast, street food is the modern couples’ choice for truly authentic and hip wedding cuisine.  Here in the UK, the street food revolution is booming, with everyone from artisan suppliers to the down and dirty food trucks offering a variety of influences, inspirations and flavours.

Serve up a selection of tantalizing temptations like Asian kebabs and dumplings, Indian Chaat, British pies, Mexican torn pork burritos, crepes, gourmet ice cream, organic vegetarian cuisine and even oysters…the possibilities really are endless!

It brings a relaxed and fun edge to your day so is perfect for those of you planning a festival-style, outdoors or non-traditional wedding day. It’s also a great way to inject some personality into your wedding; create a special dish named after you both, serve food you discovered on your travels or dishes to reflect your guests heritages.

THE PAPER GOODS  // A UNIQUE DESIGN

A personalised paper suite with a fun logo or motif like this simple bow-tie adds fun and personality to your wedding design, ensuring it’s unique to you. We designed the suite ourselves using a readily available font Reina and a little photoshop magic.

Attach labels to bottles, food cartons and favours with bakers twine or washi tape for that homemade feel. For an added special touch cocktail napkins can easily be customised too using a bespoke stamp and hot pink ink.

THE CUSTOM COCKTAIL BAR // NAUGHTY LEMONADE

Forget the fizz and get creative with your drinks reception, offer up home-made infused vodka ready to spike a cocktail at the naughty lemonade bar. Use flavours that add the fun factor such as Pear Drops, Bubblegum and Candy Floss. Serve your cocktails in custom glassware or mini-bottles from Peach Blossom, with personalised stir-sticks and paper straws.

THE DESSERT STATION // SWEET TREATS

Naked cakes are de rigour right now, they’re the antithesis of the fluffy, frothy, ten-tier extravagances of generations gone by. They not only look cool but will have guests drooling for a taste, simply dress them with flowers to maintain that raw, unstructured vibe.

Then fill your dessert station with a mouthwatering array of treats your guests can much on throughout the night for a much needed sugar hit. From monochrome macarons to mini-cakes, glitter dipped marshmallows to chocolate covered popcorn. The possibilities are endless.

THE DECOR // BACKDROPS & PROPS

Unique and interesting props and installations will fill your venue space with colour and dazzle, perfect for creating that party ambience and a great backdrop for unique photos of the day.

For a really funky and original backdrop use low-tack vinyls to create a polka-dot wall, perfect for a DIY photobooth.

Paper decor is great for adding pops of colour to a blank canvas space, either make your own tissue-paper garlands or buy ready made ones and mix them up with honeycomb pom-poms in a range of bright colours.

These sequined shimmering signs of love by Pocketful of Dreams can be used as photobooth props or simply as decor.

THE GOODNIGHT STATION // SAY GOODNIGHT IN STYLE

Forget the favour, a goodnight station is where it’s at. Provide guests with boxes and bags to fill with an array of goodies.

For a ‘good night’ give them midnight snacks, a CD of your favourite party songs and a cheeky shot of something potent to keep them partying til dawn.

For a ‘good-morning’ freshen up with breath-mints, say wakey wakey with a gourmet tea or coffee hit and a bag of sweets for that post-party sugar hit.
