Favourites menu front of house

Sonos has updated its Controller app for the different iOS and Android devices capable of running it.

The iPhone 5 version now uses the entire screen. There's an improved search bar on the Android edition of the application, which helps you find music more easily. And there's now a Sonos widget for Android devices that gives controls for play, pause and skip to next track from the home screen, without having to enter the Sonos Controller app itself.

All versions also get a new, universally located Sonos Favourites menu, where you can store your preferred tracks from any music service. Previously, each app or source had its own favourites area. Now it doesn't matter whether the track you want to store is from a NAS drive on your home network, on the iPhone , or on Spotify, you can "favourite" it and find it in the centrally located menu.

Sonos claims the changes made give you faster access to your music, and just giving it a brief whirl, we have to agree.
