OVERVIEW
Pacific Catch is seeking an experienced training manager to join the corporate office team.
The Training Manager will work closely with the HR Director, COO and Corporate Chef by executing Pacific Catch’s strategic vision for all (FOH) Front of House and (BOH) Back of House management and hourly level team members training initiatives and activities. Specifically, this involves the creation and execution of programs that will elevate our hospitality, service, food quality, safety standards and the overall performance of our people. Together with the executive team, the Training Manager will be responsible for instilling and sustaining a working environment, culture and systems that encourage and hold team members accountable for excellent performance and professional growth on an ongoing basis. This position will be split between the office and the field, and will require a significant amount of local travel and schedule flexibility to meet the training needs of our company. A typical work week will consist of meetings with the corporate team, planning and development, administrative preparation activities and coordination, and finally, leading training activities in our Bay Area restaurant locations.

SCHEDULE
This is a full-time, salaried exempt position. The typical workweek will be Monday through Friday with occasional night and weekend training commitments. Expected hours will be between 40-50 hours/week, and over 50 hours on occasion.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET
· BA/BS degree
· Bilingual in Spanish
· Multiple years experience in restaurant operations, with a mix of both hourly service staff roles and at least 3 years in management-level trainer roles
· Experience and proven success in creating and rolling out effective, user-friendly, professional and concise restaurant training programs in past organizations
· Experience in researching, developing and refining a library of training tools and documents (written, visual, video, online, verbal, etc.)
· Experience with online training program development and roll out
· Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, with extensive past experience presenting, teaching and leading workshops/training sessions
· Advanced computer skills with the ability to seek out and implement new technology and tools to use for training
· Advanced writing, copywriting, editing and formatting skills, including an eye for good design and aesthetics
· Video production skills a plus
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TRAINING MANAGER
· Collaborate with Operations and HR team in analyzing and determining training needs
· Collaborate with HR in the development of corporate training strategy and programs, including establishing success measures
· Responsible for elevating company wide service, hospitality, food quality and safety ratings through the implementation and execution of brand specific, innovative and engaging training programs
· Collaborate with team to prepare, manage and track training budget
· Research and develop orientation, training and ongoing education materials for all hourly and management level FOH and BOH positions, including copywriting, editing, formatting, printing and sharing materials
· Oversee the on-boarding and training activities of all new team members, including preparing, printing and distributing training materials and scheduling all training activities.
· Coordinate all logistics for and lead company-wide and area-specific training activities and events, seminars, HR-related development sessions and education
· Support restaurant openings including leading hourly and management trainings, updating/editing training materials, preparing new training and new hire materials and supporting management team with all training functions
· Responsible for developing a network of internal trainers to support the company’s training efforts. This includes developing and leading “Train the Trainer” programs.
· Responsible for developing feedback collection system for all training activities, analyzing training effectiveness and making changes and improvements when necessary
· In collaboration with HR, assist in analysis of staff performance reviews. Track performance of all managers and identify training and development opportunities
COMPENSATION
Salary dependent upon experience. Health benefits, 401K after one year, commuter benefits, long-term disability, employee meal benefits and paid time off also offered.
