Purpose: To prepare attractive baked goods for natural foods deli; keeping all cases stocked

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be present and prepared to begin work at the start of shifts.

• Prepare consistent and high quality baked goods that meet quality standards.

• Maintain a high level of production in order to keep deli cases stocked and abundant.

• Maintain a clean and orderly workspace throughout shift.

• Use proper storage, cooling and labeling procedures.

• Ensure that unsellable items are properly disposed of.

• Fulfill all shift duties.

• Maintain kitchen and food storage areas in sanitary, orderly condition meeting Health Department standards.

• Comply with Health Department regulations.

• Willingness to increase product knowledge over time.

• Attend all staff meetings and trainings.

• Participate in Quarterly Inventories.

• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Deli Team managers, shift leads, or Floor Managers.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Prior food service, baking, catering, restaurant, or co-op experience.

• Handles self in professional manner.

• Ability to project an outgoing, friendly, helpful personality.

• Ability to handle & prioritize multiple demands.

• Ability to follow recipes.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

• Food Handler’s Registration a plus!

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Prior food service, baking, catering, restaurant, or co-op experience.

• Experience baking breads in bulk quantities

• Pastry chef experience

• Organized, attention to detail.

• Regular, predictable attendance; flexibility in scheduling.

• Willingness and ability to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job.

• Commitment to the ongoing success of Wheatsville Co-op.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment.

• Required frequently: standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs.
