Aspiring and working professional photographers have a lot to choose from these days when it comes to educational programs, but photo-educators, Skip Cohen and Scott Bourne are working hard to create a new approach. The first program in the THRIVE series for 2014 launches on December 13 with three monthly interactive webinars followed by the all day live event in Las Vegas on March 2, 2014.

Since launching SkipCohenUniversity.com ten months ago, the resource site for aspiring and working professional photographers has continued to provide educational content to thousands of artists. The site has been referred by many as one of the fastest growing blogs and business/marketing sites in professional photography.

Started by long time industry executive, Skip Cohen with help from an impressive list of friends in the industry, including social media maven, Scott Bourne, SCU is about to take another leadership step in combining online and real-time education.

On March 2, 2014 in Las Vegas, SCU will launch its second live THRIVE program in the series, but with a different twist:

“People get excited when they sign up for a workshop and then nothing happens until the date of the program. With THRIVE we want to start months in advance and will be offering three interactive webinars at no additional cost for all of the registered attendees,” Cohen commented.

On December 13, THRIVE will offer its first online program customizing the key topics based on input from the attendees themselves. Two more online events will follow in January and February prior to the March 2 live event.

What is THRIVE?

THRIVE is about helping photographers thrive, not just survive. Topics to be covered will include developing a marketing plan, pricing, negotiating and selling skills. The team of Bourne and Cohen will work to help photographers build a stronger arsenal of marketing tools, including social media.

This is not a program for photographers to learn the techniques of being great artists, but about marketing and business, topics all too familiar to this dynamic educational team. As the co-authors of GoingPro, published just two years ago, Bourne and Cohen have spent a substantial amount of time working with photographers in other workshops.

“THRIVE only has one goal – to help photographers take their business to the next level with a focus on forward thinking. We’re working hard to get business owners in the photography sector to a leadership role instead of being reactionary to the economy, technology and their competitors,” commented Scott Bourne.

The workshop will be limited to only 100 attendees and is without question one of the most economical buys in education at just $79 for attendees who register by December 2, 2013. Registration is now open.
