Nile Dacres and Dan Pullinger both played for England Counties for the first time last Friday as England beat Scotland Club XV 45-28.

The pair have both recently reached an Albion landmark of playing 50 games for the club and they had more to celebrate as they both made their first appearances for England at Birmingham Moseley RFC.

Albion player/coach Kieran Hallett was also called-up for England, but he sustained an injury the week before at Loughborough Students during Albion’s 18-20 win meaning he missed the opportunity to represent his country.

England Counties sought about getting revenge on Scotland Club XV, who were the only team to beat them in 2016. The scores were level at half-time at 14-14, but England surged forward after the break and secured the win.

It was the first game of the England Counties season, with a fixture against Ireland Club XV on Friday 17 March in Cork to be followed by a three-match tour in June.

England Counties is a team of the community game and gives the opportunity to players from National League One and below the chance to represent their country.
