a butterfly high tea in the making

(poster is 90% siap)

Nowadays my hobby is dreaming about parties for people to join. Sometimes it's annoying because before I can finish one party idea, I think of another one. Though I don't know why I have this craving (shall call it craving, because it's like what pregnant women wants and can't get off their mind, but I'm not pregnant okay) to throw parties. Guess it comes in handy for my community of bloggers that I started this year.

It was sad that I have to announce to the community that December we don't have projects due to lack of planning. When I say planning it means we didn't have time or the energy to go ask around for someone to sponsor us a f&b venue for Christmas celebration. Being a picky person, it cannot be just any venue as well. I have a vision to follow and since I don't have the time to look for one, we have to say goodbye to a Christmas dinner.

It's obvious that I don't know anyone in the F&B industry but I know people in the beauty industry (hahaha). I'm also pretty tired of having events and projects that keeps coming. The community is a hobby that I started and it's growing bigger by the day. I am not sure if I can keep up.

The next thing in my mind map (yeah everything is planned in my head) would be officially launching the website to our community. I spoken to my hosting sponsor, ServerFreak Malaysia about the idea of an afternoon high tea to celebrate this joyous occasion in a very casual manner. There's no fireworks or anything we can afford lavishly being a non-profit community. My vision of the high tea? There would be soft romantic colors, very English with tea cups and pots. I went to researching online (the best place) for high tea reviews and these are some of the inspirational boards that I love!

My Butterfly High Tea won't come close to looking so pretty but squeals! Isn't it nice to look at pictures like this. It makes my heart skip a beat when I look at pretty pictures of parties collages. The color combination, the food, the props used, the mood. Makes me feel like planning my wedding (if only I have so much money to plan one). Economy isn't that great with the inflation going up each time something raise in price.

The Butterfly Project Malaysia is my pet project to bring together beauty & lifestyle bloggers in one community. I revamped the fan page this year March and brought it to life by bringing in review projects that would spark off our hearts and minds. Now my website for this community will be officially launch soon, I'm so happy.

I'm still trying to piece together the perfect Butterfly High Tea. It will have a wonderful spread of English High Tea menu by my favorite caterer Teaffani High Tea (so yes the whole look of the high tea is really going to be fabulous). While everyone is sipping their tea and buttering their scones, a blogging kick starter workshop will start with ServerFreak coming in to tell us how easy it is to start a blog with their wordpress blogging package. They're coming up with special prices for butterflies. I can't reveal too much but definitely this high tea is more for the ones who has been asking me "how to start a blog?".

will turn this place into a magnificent high tea party

see the lake outside?

The perfect venue for my high tea would be at this lovely place that I spotted on Facebook called Show.Case. They launch two months ago and they gave out free event space to use but only until end of Nov. I was lucky to find this place and block off a date in December, not many people know about Show.Case yet (phew). The place is new, it has wooden flooring and it overlooks the beautiful lake. Many ROM and weddings held around here so I think this is a really romantic place to have the high tea.

imagine all the bloggers come like this!!!

Ask Joey is the Butterfly Project's resident party planner who loves to experiment with dessert table themes. I don't have the money to decorate the whole place up but this dessert table will definitely liven the place up. I asked her if she wanted to be involved and she said yes! (I don't want pissing her off by going to another party planner haha). Wish I could fill the place up with lots of flowers! That would be nice right? Maybe I should go to Petaling Street to hunt down some flowers and diy the place up with center pieces on the table.

At the moment, I am still looking for a goodie bag sponsor who fits the high tea theme. There's only 1 spot for the perfect brand to be involved. I wonder who it will be? Wish me luck in finding.

P.S: Anyone like my poster? I made it today for this Butterfly High Tea.
